Privacy Policy
Effective October 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information TGG Creative LLC ("TGG Creative", "we", "us") receives through our iPhone app Out Here: Martha's Vineyard, including its widgets and Apple Watch app (together, "Out Here"), and through this website, tggcreative.com. Purchases of The Vineyard Files are handled by our online store at thevineyardfiles.com, which has its own privacy policy.
The short version
- Out Here works without an account. We don't ask for your name, email or phone number.
- We don't sell your information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
- Your location stays on your iPhone.
- Apple handles every payment. We never see your card or payment details.
Information Out Here sends to us
- Anonymous usage counts. Out Here counts which features are used each day (for example, how many times the ferry board was opened). These counts are on by default, are not linked to you or your device, and are kept only as totals. You can turn them off at any time in the app's Settings.
- Ferry alerts. If you turn on ferry alerts, the app sends us Apple's push token for your iPhone, your alert preferences and the ferry departure times you saved, so we can send the alert.
- Lock Screen ferry tracking. If you track a ferry on your Lock Screen (a Live Activity), the app sends us the trip (ports, times and ferry line), Apple's push tokens for the Live Activity and your iPhone, and short context lines such as an advisory, weather or parking note, so the card can stay up to date.
- Requests to our server. Content updates, partner cards and alerts come from our server, which runs on Cloudflare. Like any internet request, these reach Cloudflare with your device's IP address. Cloudflare sees it as part of delivering the request; our own database does not store IP addresses.
Push tokens are identifiers created by Apple for sending notifications. We use them only to deliver the alerts and Lock Screen updates you asked for, never to identify you or for advertising.
Information that stays on your iPhone
- Location, only if you allow it. Used while you use the app to show what's near you and to give directions. It is not sent to our server. Directions requests go to Apple Maps.
- Saved places, plans and settings. Stored on your device. Deleting the app removes them.
Purchases
Out Here Plus and the Week and Month Passes are sold through Apple. Apple tells the app which plan is active. We never receive your name, Apple Account, card or payment details. You can manage or cancel a subscription in Settings, your name, Subscriptions.
Sponsored cards and links
Out Here shows clearly labeled "Sponsored" cards from island businesses. They are chosen without using any information about you, and we give partners no information about you, only anonymous totals of how often their card was shown and tapped.
Some buttons open other services, such as tour and restaurant booking sites (for example Viator, GetYourGuide, Resy or OpenTable) and ferry operators' websites. Some booking links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission. Once you open one of these services, its own privacy policy applies.
Services the app connects to directly
To show information, your iPhone also connects directly to: Apple (maps, notifications and purchases); the National Weather Service and NOAA (weather, marine forecast and tides); public ferry and bus information sources where the app shows that information; and websites that host the photos shown in the app, such as Wikimedia Commons, business websites and The Vineyard Files' online store. These services receive your IP address as part of the request, as with any website.
This website
tggcreative.com uses no analytics, advertising trackers or third-party scripts. It sets a single cookie only if you enter the password for a private preview page, to remember that you entered it. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability. If you email us, we use your message and email address only to reply and help you.
How long we keep information
- Push tokens and saved ferry times are deleted when you turn alerts off, when you delete the app (Apple tells us the token is no longer valid), or when you ask us by email.
- Lock Screen tracking data is deleted when the trip ends or Apple tells us the token is no longer valid.
- Usage counts are kept only as totals, with nothing that ties them to a person or device.
- Support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you and for our business records.
Sharing
We don't sell or rent personal information. We share information only with the service providers that run our services (Apple, Cloudflare and our website host), or when required by law.
Children
Out Here is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can turn off usage counts, ferry alerts and Lock Screen tracking in the app, turn off location access and notifications in iOS Settings, and delete the app at any time. To ask what we hold about your device or to have it deleted, email outhere@tggcreative.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app.
