Martha's Vineyard
Know the island like you live here.
The all-in-one guide to Martha's Vineyard, for the people visiting and the people who live here.
Coming soon to the App Store for iPhone and Apple Watch.
The island, in your pocket.
Today, Explore, Ferries and Around. Live across all six towns.

Six towns, one island.
A 96-square-mile island south of Cape Cod, reached only by ferry or plane. Locals split its six towns in two: quiet, rural up-island to the west, and the harbor towns of down-island to the east.
Aquinnah
The clay cliffs and Gay Head Light at the island's western tip. Home of the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah).
No ferry terminal. VTA buses link Aquinnah to the ferries in Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs.

- Rolling hills, stone walls and the fishing village of Menemsha, where people gather for the sunset.
- Farm country in the middle of the island, home of the Agricultural Fair.
- The year-round ferry port in the town of Tisbury, with a walkable main street and a working harbor.
- Painted gingerbread cottages, a lively summer harbor and the Flying Horses, the oldest operating platform carousel in the country.
- White captains' houses from the whaling days, a busy harbor and the small ferry across to Chappaquiddick.
- 0
- bridges to the mainland. You arrive by ferry or plane, about 45 minutes from Woods Hole.
- 0
- traffic lights, and no posted speed over 45 mph anywhere on the island.
- 40%+

- 20,530
- people live here all year. More than 200,000 in summer.
Every tab opens on the island itself.
Today, Explore, Ferries and Around each open on a slow 3D flyover of a real island spot, with everything you need sliding over it.

Honest about where it all comes from.
Where the information comes from
- Ferry times
- Each line's published timetable.
- Live ferry status
- The Steamship Authority's public website, checked every minute while the app is open.
- Buses
- The VTA's public tracker.
- Tides
- NOAA, at Edgartown.
- Weather and marine forecast
- The National Weather Service.
- Hours
- Checked for the 2026 season, with the date shown on each place.
Out Here isn't affiliated with the Steamship Authority, the other ferry lines or the VTA. Tickets are sold on their own sites.
Works without a signal
The guide, timetables, tides and sunset are on the phone, so they work on the ferry and at the far end of the island. Live status and buses need a connection.
Privacy
No account and no sign-in. Your location stays on the phone and is only used for things like the nearest bus stop and the calmest beach.

Skipper is coming.
An island assistant that plans your day around ferries, weather and opening hours. Arriving before the 2027 season.
Ask it anything.
Where to watch the sunset tonight, which beach suits the wind, how to get from Edgartown to Aquinnah without a car. Skipper will answer in plain words.
A day that fits.
Tell it how long you have. Skipper will build the day around the ferry you are on, the weather and what is actually open.
Checked before you see it.
Every plan will be checked against ferry times, bus routes and opening hours, and fixed if something does not fit, before it reaches you.
A day trip or a whole week.
Off the morning ferry and back by dinner, or a week in a rental. Skipper will plan for the time you actually have.
It knows the app.
Every beach, trail, ferry line, bus route and event in Out Here. Skipper will answer from the same checked info you see in the app.
For locals too.
What’s open in January, the last ferry back tonight, what’s on this weekend. Skipper will be just as useful if you live here.
- Arriving before the 2027 seasonOn iPhone, in Out Here.
- A taste free, all of it with PlusBasic gets a first taste of Skipper. Plus gets the full Skipper.
- Powered by Vidd AIMeet the assistant behind it
A personal assistant used to be a luxury. Not anymore.
Text or call it like a real person. It does the research, the paperwork and the follow-ups. Skipper will bring the same thinking to the island.
Pick a job. Try it yourself.
Betty, Chief, Ace, whatever fits. It’s your hire.
